Around ten years ago, the coatings industry was concerned when the first initiatives to use recycled aluminium alloys in the architectural sector came to light. There were fears that coated products might exhibit corrosion problems in the field, which could cause damage to the coatings industry. However, a series of trials and corrosion tests carried out for the architectural sector demonstrated that the anticipated problems with recycled aluminium did not arise. In some test series, recycled aluminium actually performed better.
