The high-pressure water jet test, or steam jet test, is a method of testing the adhesion strength of coatings. To carry out the test, a scratch is made on the specimen, which is then exposed to a high-pressure water jet under defined conditions. The maximum delamination of the coating from the scratch (VW TL 52451) or a damage index based on comparative images (DIN EN ISO 16925) is reported.
