As a notified body under the Construction Products Regulation (EU CPR), the IFO Certification Body carries out impartial and independent audits of coating companies. The DIN EN 1090 series of standards sets out requirements for surface treatment and corrosion protection, as well as for the application and monitoring of the coating and the materials used. These must comply with the component specification. In-house production control comprises not only the management of the manufacturing process and the inspection of finished products, but also a number of other requirements. These include the definition of responsibilities, the qualification of staff, the maintenance of equipment and machinery, and the calibration of measuring instruments. The storage of coating materials is of great importance. This also applies to the documentation and traceability of the entire production process. The impartial and independent monitoring of coating companies in accordance with DIN EN 1090 builds trust within the supply chain. The inspection can often be carried out on the same day as certification and is evidenced by a certificate.
