In contrast to accelerated weathering using xenon arc lamps, UV fluorescent lamps (UVA-340, UVB-313) are used here as the radiation source. These result in an even greater acceleration of the degradation processes of organic compounds. A heated water reservoir is also used to simulate the formation of dew through the condensation of water on the surface. Following exposure to UV light and condensation in alternating cycles, the colour and gloss stability of organic and metallic surfaces, as well as textiles, is tested.
